He is into academics for over 30 years and has now retired as a Professor fromPushpagiri college of dental sciences. He has a keen interest in aesthetic and restorative dentistry.

Dr. Baby James is an active Rotary International. Married to Mrs. Valsamma Chacko who has retired as principal Government school of nursing, Pathanamthitta and is blessed with two sons Dr Jeswin Baby James & Dr. Justin Baby James. He is currently residing at Palakudiyil house, Sanjeevani hospital road, behind  Parel church, Changanacherry and some of his hobbies include Organic Farming, Traveling and Reading.
